BeginCPR Policy – Red Cross BLS vs. AHA BLS

Certain students enroll in the Red Cross BLS course only to discover subsequently that an AHA BLS Certification is required.

🔄 Switching Policy

-
Please notify us as soon as you discover you need AHA instead of ARC.
-
If you arrive at an ARC class but need AHA, you have 15 minutes to decide:
-

Option 1: Switch to AHA BLS

-
Leave the ARC class and attend the AHA class (we often schedule AHA right after ARC).
-
If no AHA class follows, you may reschedule for the next available AHA date.
-
You cannot sit in on the ARC class while waiting.
-

Option 2: Earn Both Certifications

-
Pay for AHA BLS and complete its requirements.
-
You’ll receive a 50% discount on the second class.
-
Example: Paid $70 for ARC → AHA Initial is $80 → You pay $40 for the AHA class.
-

-
If you switch from ARC to AHA only (no dual cert):

-
You simply pay the difference in fees:
-
AHA Initial: $80 vs. ARC $70 → $10 difference
-
AHA Renewal: $75 vs. ARC $70 → $5 difference
-
✅ Reminder: Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are valid for 2 years, and most healthcare providers/employers accept either. Always confirm which certification your employer or school requires before registering.
