Healthcare Providers Who Also Need First Aid

 

Before enrolling, please check with your employer, school, or training program to confirm whether First Aid certification is required in addition to BLS.

Some healthcare programs require both BLS and First Aid certification.

This may apply to:

• EMT students
• Paramedic students
• Firefighter trainees
• School nurses or school health staff
• Healthcare students working in school or community settings

• School health assistants
• School district medical staff

Since BLS does not include First Aid, these students may need to complete two certifications.
