AHA BLS Skills Session (HeartCode Skills

Service Description

This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Skills Session is for healthcare providers who have already completed the HeartCode BLS online course and need to complete the in-person skills evaluation. ⚠️ The online portion is NOT included in this session. Students must complete the HeartCode BLS online course through the American Heart Association before attending this skills session. HeartCode BLS (Online Portion): https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls Certification Upon successful completion of the skills session, students receive an official AHA BLS Provider eCard, issued the same day or by email from eCards@heart.org . Certification is valid for two (2) years. Who This Skills Session Is For This session is appropriate for: Licensed healthcare professionals Individuals working in healthcare or clinical settings Students enrolled in healthcare or allied health programs (Examples include nurses, CNAs, medical assistants, EMTs, paramedics, dental professionals, and healthcare students.) Skills You Will Demonstrate This instructor-guided session focuses on hands-on skill performance, including: High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants Relief of choking for conscious and unconscious victims of all ages Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use Bag-Valve Mask (BVM) and Pocket Mask ventilation Instruction is supportive, calm, and guided, with practice time to ensure confidence and accuracy. Session Format Review of required BLS skills Instructor demonstration Guided hands-on practice Individual skills confirmation This session focuses on skills performance only. Written exams are completed through the HeartCode BLS online course, not during the skills session. Continuing Education (CE) Information California Dentists and Dental Professionals: AHA CE credits issued EMS Professionals: CE available upon request No other professions receive CE credits through AHA at this time
