Instructor-Guided AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Course Description (Recommended) Our American Heart Association (AHA) BLS courses are taught in an instructor-led format and follow all current AHA guidelines and standards. Initial and renewal students are welcome to attend the same class. Pricing is the same for initial and renewal participants. All students receive the required instruction, hands-on practice, and skills evaluation appropriate for AHA BLS certification. This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare providers, licensed professionals, and students in healthcare programs who require BLS certification for work or school. Upon successful completion, students receive an official AHA BLS Provider eCard, delivered the same day or by email from eCards@heart.org . Certification is valid for two (2) years. Who This Course Is For This is the required level of CPR certification for individuals who: Hold a healthcare license Work in a healthcare or clinical setting Are enrolled in a healthcare or allied health program (Examples include nurses, CNAs, medical assistants, EMTs, paramedics, dental professionals, and healthcare students.) Skills You Will Learn This course follows current AHA guidelines and includes hands-on practice in: High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants Relief of choking for conscious and unconscious victims of all ages Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use Bag-Valve Mask (BVM) and Pocket Mask ventilation Team-based resuscitation concepts Instruction is supportive, instructor-guided, and hands-on, with time for practice to build confidence and accuracy. Course Format Training includes: Viewing AHA BLS instructional videos Guided hands-on practice during skills segments Instructor observation and skills confirmation A written exam (25 questions) Exam Options: Take the exam online prior to class: https://www.begincpr.net/ahablsonlineexam Or complete the exam on the day of class A passing score is 84%. Additional instructor guidance is provided if needed, in accordance with AHA guidelines.
